Why won’t my ignition turn Jupiter. It can be so frustrating when you are in a hurry because you are running late, you get into your car, put your key in your ignition and you can’t get the key to turn. There are many reasons that could be causing the key not to turn.
One reason your key may be stuck and not turning in your ignition is there may be dirt or debris in the ignition. Tiny pieces of dirt and debris can build up in your ignition over time causing the ignition to get stuck. You can try to clear it out the best way to do this is with the can of air used to clean computer keyboards and electronics. If this does not work there may be a wafer inside the ignition that is stuck. You can try spraying a lubricant such as WD-40 into the ignition and use your key to push the WD-40 further into the ignition and gently try to turn. It may be your steering wheel is locked. Place your key into your ignition and gently wiggle your key trying to turn it at the same time wiggle and turn your steering wheel. Your key may be dirty or damaged. Inspect your key to make sure it doesn’t have any dirt or debris stuck on it or any damage. If there is damage and you don’t already have a spare you can have a locksmith make a new copy for you.
